BLONDE PONYTAIL #2 ISSUE 1959: Beautiful ponytail with perfect all original face paint with exception of a tiny bit of touch up to her black eyelash area. The orange/red lips are near perfection as well as her eyebrows, as good as you will find. Her cheeks have a substantial amount of original blush, giving her a most delicate appearance. The hair is nice and full with rows of tiny curly bangs and retied ponytail. There is a bit trimmed off the ends of her tail but still makes into a nice full long tail. The body and head are a beautiful match, evenly faded to ivory. Included is a #3 stand, zebra swimsuit, and #2 black mules. These shoes are significant in that they came with this doll and upon close inspection, you will see little round circles on the soles of the shoes where there would have been a hole punched for a #1 issue ponytail. You can still easily see the original punch lines. There is a plain white box, liner and clear acetate lid for display if desired. Fabulous and extremely rare doll made in 1959. BLONDE PONYTAIL #4 ISSUE: as pretty as you will find one....with a full soft very long ponytail with replaced bands and very thick full bangs with lots of curls. Her face paint is outstanding. She has all original big full red lips, original gray eyeshadow and perfect brows. Her boy is excellent overall, only minor light scuffing on the back of her calves otherwise near perfect. BLONDE PONYTAIL #4 ISSUE MINT IN BOX: Beautiful doll with rows of tiny curled bangs, nice full long tail with replaced lower band. Her face is lovely with original lips, light gray eyeshadow and beautiful eyebrows (light wash on these). Body: near mint overall with no obvious flaws to mention. Contents include her original zebra swimsuit (near mint), shoes, earrings (these should not be displayed due to possible green staining problems), two piece stand (near mint with no damage to plastic), booklet, sunglasses, replacement cardboard liner and box. Box bottom: near mint-mint with no flaws. BLONDE PONYTAIL #5 ISSUE: Very sweet face on this girl with very pretty hair and full curly bangs. She has a replacement rubber band in the top & bottom of her tail. Barbie has perfectly gorgeous face paint, all original with bright red lips and smoky gray eyeshadow. Her medium brown eyebrows are perfect. No ear stains or other facial problems. Body: 2 pin dots of gray on the back of her left leg and one on the right, otherwise excellent overall. She is wearing "Dusty Doll's" aqua knit swimsuit, in excellent condition. $275 photo photo photo

BLONDE PONYTAIL #5 ISSUE: Beautiful face paint all original perfect with deep red large lips, smoky gray eyeshadow & medium brown eyebrows. The hair is soft with a large full curl at the end of her tail and very full bangs. Her hair shines as when new. She has a replacement rubber band in the bottom of her tail & oxidized original band in the top. There is a little oxidization in her hair near the original dark band. No ear stains but a tiny gray dot just below her bottom right lip line. This is barely visible. Body: dent in right thumb & minimal scuffing on ankles otherwise excellent overall. She is wearing an original black Mattel nylon swimsuit from 1962 (threads missing from right leg hem and around back of swimsuit opening). $255 photo photo photo photo

BARBIE NUMBER 6 & LATER PONYTAILS:

TITIAN (RED HEAD) PONYTAIL #6 ISSUE: Beautiful doll with all original face paint. Her hair is very soft and shiny, untouched, bottom band replaced, very full bangs & original top knot and so hard to find in this condition. There is a streak of oxidization on the right side of her hair, appearing darker red in that area. Her face is gorgeous with perfect sienna eyebrows, medium coral lip coloring. She has a faint bit of discoloration just in her right earring hole & you will need to strain your eyes to see this. No other facial problems. Body: faint gray speck on left knee otherwise excellent with no obvious flaws. She wears a generic red knit swimsuit in excellent condition. $345 photo photo photo

1989 PB BARBIE MINT IN BOX: 11-1/2" PB BARBIE DOLL called "PINK EVENING." PB Barbie dolls were sold in Japan during the 1980's and utilized authentic Mattel Barbie head and body molds. They have very soft & thickly rooted hair, made into a long full ponytail and thick curled bangs. She is a platinum blonde. Her outfit includes a pink taffeta evening gown with silver glitter stripes. Accents are silver lame bows. There is a matching silver lame handbag. Her coat is white satin (one small pale brown line of discoloration on side back area, probably from something it was leaning against in the box). This is not going to show when displayed. She has a pearl and crystal rhinestone necklace and white heels. The original two piece stand is included along with original receipt of purchase from Pony Toy Go-Round in Los Angeles, California in 1989. She was displayed behind glass for a few years, otherwise has been in her box, never played with. Very hard to find! $295 photo photo photo photo photo photo

BLONDE HONEY BUBBLE CUT MINT IN BOX: Here is an unusual doll featuring an unusual hair color, perhaps a white Ginger. Her hair is huge, coarse and rather long and wispy. She has all original face paint with gray eyeshadow, white lips (there is just a hint of pink if you look closely, that has faded back to white). The nose dots match. Her eyebrows are perfect. The body is near mint overall, no obvious flaws to mention. She wears her original red swimsuit (mint), red heels, original pearl earrings (these are meant for display only but should not be worn by the doll due to possible green staining from brass ear wires), and sunglasses. Contents include booklet, stand, replacement cardboard insert and box. Box Bottom: near mint-mint. Box Top: excellent-near mint overall with a few small spots of discoloration barely worth mentioning, faded name at top of box top from original owner and a small amount of missing graphics on bottom end flap due to price sticker removal. BRUNETTE BUBBLE CUT MINT IN BOX: wonderful perfect example of a mint in box doll, features a beautiful brunette Bubble Cut Barbie with pristine perfect face paint including coral lips. The body is equally mint, no flaws to mention. She wears her original mint swimsuit, gold foil wrist tag (band is replaced by scotch tape), red heels, original pearl earrings (meant to be displayed but not worn by this doll due to possible staining from brass earring wires), and remaining contents include the original booklet in cello package (cello split on one side), gold wire stand, original speckled cardboard insert and box. Box Bottom: soiled on underside otherwise very nice, Box Top: wonderful condition for the age with only minor soiling at random (barely visible), all graphics intact. BRUNETTE SWIRL PONYTAIL MINT IN BOX: stunning hard to find brunette swirl ponytail in pristine condition. This one is just too beautiful. Her hair is very shiny, untouched original set with her original orange ribbon. The face paint is perfect, all original except for color washed lips. Her original lips had faded back to beige and this lip paint can be easily removed if desired but she presents herself much better with geranium lips as when first issued. Replacement safe earrings are included and if the buyer wants the original pearl earrings, they are available but must not be displayed in these vintage dolls as they will turn the vinyl green from brass earring wires. Body: near mint-mint with no obvious flaws to mention. Contents include original red jersey swimsuit (some light discoloration up one side and back), shoes, booklet, gold wire stand, original cardboard insert and box. Box Bottom: some small areas of paper off bottom from tape removal otherwise clean. Box Top: Very clean overall with a few creases in the front panel but all graphics are intact and in very nice condition. Body: 2 pin holes in left ear & 1 in right ear, faded blue 1/4" stain at right front hip, pinhead gray dot at left lower thigh, left leg only clicks twice, head & arms a bit darker than torso. 1967-1968 BROWNETTE TWIST N TURN BARBIE: gorgeous long shiny hair with tons of bangs, replaced band & missing ribbon, face is sweet with restored lip color to coral, perfect brows and full eyelashes. Facial tone is evenly pink. Body: right ankle has a few pricks otherwise near mint overall. Original Talking Barbie swimsuit top included, near mint. $125 photo photo

1967-1968 TITIAN TWIST N TURN BARBIE: here is an absolute rare beauty in the twist n turn world of Barbie. This girl has all of her original face paint in perfect condition with lots of blush and full eyelashes. Her hair is unreal...the most beautiful deep shade of coppery red, very full and long coarse Color Magic type filament with a replaced band and Mattel ribbon. She does have some lightness at each ear, well covered by her hair and some extra earring holes at each. Body: near mint overall with some darkening to her arms otherwise nothing to mention. She came to me dressed in this two piece red nylon swimsuit (mint) and standard TNT cover up (excellent with some of the elastic trim a little frayed). White box and clear lid included. 1971 MALIBU BARBIE: nice doll with all original perfect face paint, peachy lip color, hair has been trimmed 1/2 inch otherwise full and looks great. Body: feet are warped a bit sideways, small splits in the bottom of her feet & pale gray discoloration on left forearm otherwise no other issues to mention. 1972 MONTGOMERY WARD'S ANNIVERSARY BARBIE NRFB: hard to find pink store box, all contents are mint and include Barbie anniversary ponytail doll with wrist tag, shoes, swimsuit and booklet. The box top is wrinkled and has a 2 inch tear that has been glued, but this doll does not look as if it were ever removed. Original paper price stick of $2.99. She will need it restyled with curlers and hot water in order to get it to stay curled & there is lots of length to work with. Body: right big toe has crease otherwise no flaws. 1965 FRANCIE STRAIGHT LEG MINT IN BOX: tons of silky blonde hair on this girl with pristine original face paint. Her face has retained full pink coloring with tons of cheek blush & only a tiny bit of lightness at the jaw line, barely visible. She's as pretty as you will find. She still has two short pieces of original string at either side of her temples (used to originally hold her hair in place from the factory). Body: both arms have faded (usual with these dolls) otherwise near mint-mint. Includes swimsuit in mint condition, heels (Mattel white to replace original Mattel red), booklet, gold wire stand, replacement cardboard liner and box. Box bottom: near mint overall with light age discoloration. Box Top: near mint-mint overall with minimal edge wear. $250 photo photo photo photo photo

1965 FRANCIE STRAIGHT LEG MINT IN BOX: very full soft brunette hair and bangs, pretty face has retained full pink coloring with light cheek blush. She has a light spot under her bangs, 2 light spots on the right side of her neck, tip of the nose and lightness at her chin. There are two small scratches on her lower torso under her swimsuit and a few specks of discoloration on her body at random. Includes swimsuit top (color bleeding evident), bottoms (waist is stretched otherwise near mint), original red shoes, booklet, gold wire stand, replacement cardboard liner and box. Box bottom: nice overall but paper is rippling slightly. Box Top: near mint graphics but paper is rippling & two corners glued. $235 photo photo photo photo

1965 FRANCIE AND HER SWINGIN' SEPARATES WITH BOX: Very hard to find set includes Francie doll as follows: beautiful doll with nice dark skin tone overall, all original face paint with lots of blush, perfect eyebrows & lips, full long eyelashes and thick beautiful hair. She has a light spot on her right ear, behind the right ear and below the right ear, otherwise no other obvious faded spots on her. Her arms are a tiny bit lighter than the body. Her body is in near mint condition overall with only 4 tiny pale blue specks on the back of her left knee. This girl was obviously not played with much. She wears her swimsuit, near mint condition. The clothing items included are all there, having been resewn back onto the cardboard liner as they were removed once. The clothes are all near mint-mint condition. Only the slacks have the waistband elastic somewhat dried out, otherwise these are perfect. There are yellow buckle shoes and a tiny pink comb and eyelash brush, plus Francie booklet and gold wire doll stand. Her original box is included with the original cardboard liner as well. The outer gift box bottom is very nice with only a couple of scuffs to the edges. The box top has some worn areas of graphics as shown in the photos, four on the front of the box as if tape had been holding something that was later removed. The corners show some wear and a little along the edges. Overall, still a nice piece and with wonderful contents still intact. $650 photo photo photo photo

1969 TALKING JULIA: beautiful thick shiny eggplant colored hair, all original face paint with nicely blushed cheeks and bright pink lips. Full eyelashes and perfect brows make this one a beauty. MIDGE BLONDE MINT IN BOX: very pretty Midge doll mint in her box with contents as described: Beautiful full flip and nice long bangs, original face paint fully intact with deep coral lips. Body: near mint overall with no obvious flaws. Contents include: two piece original swimsuit (near mint condition), white heels, booklet (small tears at staples but still held together well), wire stand, replacement cardboard insert and box. Box bottom: some paper torn off underside and remains of scotch tape. Box Top: Graphics are mostly there but show wear along the box edges, right side panel has gray spots of discoloration at random and old remains of tape. 1967 BEND LEG SKIPPER BLOND: tons of gorgeous silky shiny hair, original face paint with coral lips, body flaws: several pin pricks in right foot & one indent in front right calf, hole in top of left foot light scuffs on left front calf, gray faded line at front left knee. 1967 BEND LEG SKIPPER BRUNETTE: tons of beautiful thick hair & bangs, original face paint with coral lips, only right eyebrow tip is retouched, body flaws: neck has 1/16" split (glued), head is light around hair line from headband (this extends outward from hair line about 1/4" so is all hidden by her hair). Body is tan version with a few pin pricks in each leg, hole in top of left foot (1/8"), swimsuit has runs & snags, still okay for display). $25 photo photo

1968 RARE STORE DISPLAY: SKIPPER FASHION BOUTIQUE: A limited number of these store displays were manufactured for retailers for the purpose of helping to promote dolls and clothing in the toy departments of various stores. Skipper had changed by 1971 and these became obsolete, so many were taken home by the retailer or sold, and the contents would have been taken out for a child to play with so few of these exist today. **** This is stamped "1968 Printed in USA, dolls made in Taiwan, clothes made in Taiwan" and holds four fabulous twist n turn Skipper dolls, two blondes and two java brown hair color. None show any pale spots or discoloration on the faces. They all have nicely blushed cheeks and are pristine and perfect as they were from the day they were made. Each has a silver foil wrist tag, all in mint condition inside their little window display boutique. Outfits include and are mint: #1970 Ice Cream n Cake, # 1971 Pants n Pinafore, #1969 Knit Bit and #1976 School's Cool. **** The display box itself is in nice condition. There are scuff marks at random on the brown cardboard background and edges along the top show minimal wear. The side panels have some light scuff marks. The acetate window has a couple of bowed in areas in the front and one crack in the very top of the acetate where it comes to a peak (about 1 1/4"). This is shown in the close up photo and has been there since I bought the piece in the 1980's. Overall it is in beautiful condition and the dolls are perfect. The inside contains a three dimensional stairway, shelf and window area. This is a wonderful piece of Mattel and Barbie history and a prime piece for the advanced collector. Overall size of this display: 20 1/4" wide x 16 1/4" high x 8" deep. LIVING SKIPPER 1970: Beautiful & near mint overall condition with original perfect face paint, full eyelashes, replaced hair ribbons, near mint body overall only flaw being left elbow does not hold pose, & tiny earring hole at each ear (need a magnifier to see these),comes with swimsuit (excellent overall but is faded, some stitches popped on leg hems & missing scarf ring. $35 photo photo

MALIBU SKIPPER 1973 Korea: original face paint is perfect with shiny silky hair & bangs. Body: no vinyl flaws however her legs have shiny and dull spots due to particular manufacture of this issue & left knee has bump (not sure from what). 1961 KEN BRUNETTE FLOCKED HAIR in original box. This handsome guy has all original face paint with the exception of his eyebrow tips being color washed to match original faded tips. He looks great with his brunette flocked hair, no bare spots showing and overall in great condition. Body: near mint-mint overall. Original Box Bottom: nice overall with light discoloration due to age, bottom edge has two inch seam separation reglued. Box Top: Clear bright graphics, several areas along seams and corners reglued, small area of graphics missing on bottom end flap and some pale writing on the box front and large black marker writing on the inside of the box top as shown per photo. 1969 TALKING KEN IN BOX: excellent display piece as described: doll looks near mint overall with perfect face & hair paint. His head does not turn as if it is frozen or glued on, so I left it alone. The legs are also frozen at the hips, arms move fine. Two piece original red jacket and trunks are mint. Talker is mute. Box: Ken is displayed in a clear window box that looks excellent overall. There is a clear acetate panel that is molded to hold is head in place inside this window. The blue cardboard liner inside the box is missing a flap at the bottom but this is not noticeable. The outer box has two tears above the clear window and one is glued. The bottom green cardboard frame is torn off at lower front but again isn't real noticeable due to the design of this box. The side panel has a crease down the center from being crushed lightly and there is a large area of graphics torn off the back of the box. Still a nice piece to display Ken in. $30 photo photo photo
